The Royal History

The Owner of the Royal Cakery is Shirelle Royal. This is her story.

After marrying her husband, Charles Royal, then stationed in Phoenix, Arizona in the US Airforce. She enrolled in a cake decorating class in a local community college, and quickly found her passion for cakes.

Upon returning back home to New Orleans in 1985, she started by helping family and friends. By 1995, her small operation had found so much success that she opened The Royal Cakery.

Since moving to the Cakery's current location, on Morrison Road in New Orleans the Cakery has surpassed all her expectations.

She has prepared her elegant creations for such occasions and the renaming of Louis Armstrong Airport in New Orleans, and many Mardi Gras Balls.
